PROS: Pretty. Rustic feel which is nice as it’s not a formal venue. Has great reviews. Easy to get to downtown for those in the city. Great size for us. Looks pretty in most photos (lots of natural light, yay!)
CONS: Looks like it’s located near/besides/attached to the the Berkeley Church. Church’s = no go’s for Mike. Not sure what most of the venue actually looks like as a lot of the best shots are of specific close ups there. Not super cheap from what I hear, may let you do outdoor catering.

PROS: Beautiful, located near Michelle and Steve, so means a lot to them (huge bonus), Di Carlo’s/Belgues already familiar with it, already have visitor space for immediate siblings (cutting initial room costs for them), Hassard/Madden group vacation in NC every year, so it wouldn’t be a stretch to ask them to make their holidays in SC next year, stunning location, allows for both families to get to know each other (HUGE BONUS), cuts numbers easily, since not a formal wedding could have more wiggle room with how we spend $ (Ex. Saving $ from reception and just putting it towards some family activities all together - like large families buffet style meals/BBQ’s, adventures, whatever). Chairs, China, Clean Up, Event Planning, Flatware, Glassware, Linens, Parking, Set Up, Tables are all included in reception flat fee. Fantastic rating online.
CON: $1000 booking fee for reception. $500 for Ceremony. All Belfair events are subject to a (22%) administrative fee, six percent (6%) sales tax, and two percent (2%) Beaufort County hospitality tax (Boo), all prices are in US (except the home bookings which list in Canadian $). Far, so not all friends would be able to make it, could be very hot depending on when we choose to do it/are able to, will have to buy additional travel insurance for Mimi and Papa, don’t have same connection to industry professionals like in Canada so MUA/HAIR/Photographer will probably cose extra/more than otherwise. May be able to do lower numbered wedding, but not sure.

Executive Chef & Pitmaster, Dustin Ricker was born and raised on a small family farm in Maine, stoking his curiosity and passion for farm-to-table production as well as his introduction to the culinary workforce at age 15. His career has been diverse and investigative with experience spanning wedding & banquet catering at a 5-star hotel in Aspen, craft beer pairings at local breweries, specializations in proteins and artisanal cheese with a high-end food supply company, and running farm-to-table restaurants in Portland. Chef’s love of food pairs perfectly with his love of weddings, and having led more than 300 weddings during his career, Chef Dustin moved here after falling in love with a Lowcountry woman and having a wedding of his own. Since then, he has also fallen for the history of the ingredients and techniques of the Southern tradition, and we are all the better because of it. Chef has an insatiable passion for BBQ and has been instrumental in the design of the restaurant’s new smoker - the first of its kind here on Hilton Head Island - and you can expect to see him and his team at all hours stoking and slow-smoking pork, chicken, and brisket. With both front of and back of the house experience, Chef is focused on the comprehensive experience of his guests here at the resort, and we invite you to join us for his revitalization and elevation of Lowcountry fare.
